CHATSWORTH HOUSE

Visiting a palace is always exciting, but visiting a palace with 105 acres that is watered entirely through sustainable practices is even better. With a large reservoir collecting rainwater in the upper portions of the estate it is gravity fed throughout the exquisite garden beds which need a little more moisture during the summer months. England has been experiencing serious drought issues over the past few years making this sustainable and low energy watering system essential to keeping the garden intact. BONUS: The water is also used to flush the large number of public toilets located throughout the site!
